The last public celebration of Mass will be at 10.30am on Friday 20th March. At this Mass both of our RCIA candidates will be received into full communion of the Catholic Church and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. We need all the strength and encouragement we can find!
During this unprecedented situation, Mass at St Augustine’s will continue to be celebrated, but it will have to be on my own without you, the people of God. We are exploring ways of live streaming for next week.
St Augustine’s will also be open for private prayer every day except Mondays, from about 8.00am until 5.00pm. I will also be available for individual confessions and pastoral emergencies. If any parishioner is in need of practical help during this testing time, please do not hesitate to contact the Parish Office.
I strongly believe that God is now calling us to a much deeper inner journey. I will write more about this in the coming weeks.
We also need to nurture the domestic church, praying with our brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, children and parents in our own homes, reading the scriptures together and offering everything up to the Father in our Lord Jesus Christ.
If you wish to make an act of spiritual communion it may help you to know that I will be celebrating a private Mass at 9.00am each Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and 7.00pm on Tuesdays.
May St Joseph, guardian of the Church, pray for us
May our Blessed Lady pray for us.
God bless you all,
